About these terms
1.1 These terms are between JAKALLABS LTD (company number 17507001, registered office Unit 12 Mica Close, Tamworth, England, B77 4DR), trading as jakallabs ("we", "us"), and the business that uses our services ("you").
1.2 Our services are for businesses only. By accepting an invitation, paying, or using the app at app.jakallabs.co.uk, the person doing so confirms they act for the business and can bind it to these terms.
1.3 Your order is the plan, price and any extras we agree with you and show you before you pay. If the order and these terms conflict, the order wins for that point.
The service
2.1 We provide the products named in your order, such as website hosting and care, Jakal Studio analytics and any other jakallabs product, through the app. You get only the products and extras you pay for.
2.2 Accounts are by invitation. You choose who in your business joins and what role they have. Owners and admins must use two-factor sign-in.
2.3 Website care covers the work described in your order. Larger changes, new pages or new sites are quoted separately and start once agreed.
2.4 To support you, our staff can view your account read-only for a limited time. Each view needs fresh two-factor sign-in by our staff member and is recorded in our own logs.
Prices and payment
3.1 You pay before you can use the service. You can pay monthly, or for a year upfront at twelve times the monthly price. Prices are in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added; if that changes, we will tell you before VAT is charged.
3.2 Your plan renews automatically on the same date each month or year, and we take payment from the card you saved. Payments are processed by Revolut; we never see or keep your full card details.
3.3 Extras, such as analytics at £15 a month, are charged when you add them and then join your plan's regular payment. For a yearly plan, an extra added part way through is charged for each month left until renewal.
3.4 Extra AI questions are a one-off purchase, paid when bought, and expire at the end of the calendar month in which you buy them.
3.5 One-off work, such as building a website, is paid as agreed in the order, usually before the work starts or before the site goes live.
3.6 If a payment fails, we will tell you and try again. If it still hasn't been paid 3 days after it was due, we may pause your access until it is paid. Your data is kept while paused.
3.7 We may change prices for new customers at any time. For you, a new price applies only from your next renewal after we have given you at least 30 days' notice. If you don't accept it, you can end your plan before it applies.
3.8 We issue an invoice for every payment, which you can download in Settings › Billing.
Length, renewal and ending your plan
4.1 Your plan runs month to month, or year to year, until you or we end it. If your order sets a minimum term, such as 12 months, you pay for the whole minimum term even if you end the plan earlier.
4.2 You can end a plan agreed with us at any time by emailing billing@jakallabs.co.uk. A plan you chose yourself in the app can also be ended in Settings › Billing. Either way, it ends at the close of the period you have paid for, and you keep access until then. We don't refund part-used periods, except where the law requires or we agree otherwise.
4.3 Extras can be removed by emailing billing@jakallabs.co.uk and stop at the end of the paid period.
4.4 After your plan ends, you can ask for a copy of your data within 30 days. 90 days after it ends we delete your account data, apart from records we must keep by law, such as invoices.
4.5 If we host your website, ending the plan ends the hosting. If you ask before the plan ends, we will help move the site to another host for a fixed fee of £99. That covers a copy of the site's files and content, handing over your domain, and one call or email exchange with your new host. Bigger moves, such as rebuilding the site on another platform, are quoted separately.
Your responsibilities
5.1 You are responsible for the people you invite and what they do in your account. Keep sign-in details private, use two-factor where the app asks, and tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
5.2 You must not use the service to break the law, harm others, send spam, upload malware, try to reach other customers' data, overload or probe our systems, or resell the service without our written agreement.
5.3 You are responsible for the content on your website and in your account, and for having the right to use it. This includes your website's own privacy and cookie notices; where our analytics tag is on your site, your notice must mention it and let visitors withdraw consent.
5.4 You will give us the information and access we reasonably need, such as domain or hosting access, to deliver what you ordered.
AI features
6.1 Some products include an AI assistant that answers questions from your own account data, and a site agent that can propose small website changes. Each product has its own monthly allowance, shown in the app.
6.2 The assistant only uses data the person asking is allowed to see. Conversations are recorded so we can check quality and safety.
6.3 AI answers can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it. Website changes proposed by the agent are approved before they are published.
Your content and ours
7.1 You keep ownership of your content: text, images, logos and data you give us or put in the app. You let us use it only to provide the service.
7.2 We own the app, its design and our code, templates and tools. You get the right to use them while your plan is active.
7.3 A website we build for you becomes yours once its build fee is paid in full, apart from our reusable code, templates and tools, which you may keep using for that site. Third-party items, such as fonts or stock images, stay under their own licences.
Data protection
8.1 For your account, sign-in and billing details, we are the controller, as our app privacy notice explains.
8.2 For personal data you or your website visitors put into the service, such as your team's details or visitor statistics, you are the controller and we process it for you, only on your instructions and to provide the service.
8.3 When we process data for you, we will: keep it confidential; protect it with appropriate security, including encryption and access controls; use only the sub-processors named in our privacy notice (Microsoft Azure in the UK, Cloudflare, Revolut, Resend, Anthropic and GitHub) and tell you before adding one; help you answer requests from the people the data is about; tell you without undue delay about a breach affecting your data; and delete or return it when the service ends.
Availability, support and changes
9.1 We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We will try to do planned maintenance at quiet times.
9.2 Support is by email at info@jakallabs.co.uk and through the app. We aim to reply within one working day.
9.3 We improve the service over time and may change features. We won't remove a main feature of a product you pay for without telling you first and letting you end your plan.
Liability
10.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
10.2 We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss.
10.3 Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in those 12 months.
10.4 You will cover our reasonable costs if a third party makes a claim against us because of your content or your breach of section 5.
Suspension and ending by us
11.1 We may pause your access if a payment is overdue (section 3.6), or straight away if your use puts the service, other customers or the law at risk.
11.2 We may end your plan with 30 days' notice for any reason, refunding any whole months you have paid for and not used. We may end it at once if you seriously break these terms and don't put it right within 14 days of us asking.
General
12.1 We may update these terms. We will email account owners at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect. If you don't accept it, you can end your plan before then.
12.2 We send notices to your account owner's email address. You can send notices to info@jakallabs.co.uk or our registered office.
12.3 Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control.
12.4 These terms and the order are the whole agreement between us about the service. You may not transfer them without our agreement.
12.5 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute.
